Thank you design for letting me trash Enju from the deck...about time too. Another guy to give Thunder's Blessing to instead of just Sayoko and Chuuna is great too.

Just started with Mantis, but working on trying to design an enlightenment deck. This guy will be great in it. perfect gold curve, battle action for Ring of Water, and Shugenja for using spells and kiho for Ring of Air.

But yes, the art does suck.

Solid. Slots perfectly in TDB decks, replacing Mizuro.

Another 4 chi shugenja. Nice. Now I really want to make a Shugenja/magistrate build out of TDB and utilize Magistrates Blade.

Card's good. I don't think the art is that bad.

Finally! People will stop trying to run Saya/Nabeta in their TDB Shuggie decks! Woohoo!
Terrible art, but the card is great otherwise. Flavour text is awesome.

Those Earth spells, Testsubo of Earth (TPW) and Shelter of the Earth (IG3), that give weapons and armor and have special abilities if the shugenja is earth warrants a reconsideration of Kitsune Mizuru I think.... Well for the TDB weapon deck that I have anyway hehe

I'm just sad this guy doesn't help for the "naval consumed" which is the best part about mantis doing some magic.... Sad

One non-unique shug does not justify their use. Tetsubo was cut fairly early.

I like that you get two attachments for the price of one to make Consumed more effective.

I've generally found that using jank to enable jank tends to leave you with unreliable jank.

How is Consumed jank? Besides this is a CCG anyway, it's always unreliable.

It's jank when it's been so long since I've played in a meaningful capacity and when last I did Mantis shuggies never had enough force to smash provinces in a timely manner.

A significant portion of deck design in most ccg's is risk mitigation. The expression as I recall it is something to the effect of power wins games, consistency wins tournements.

Personally. I did the reverse. You cut Mizuru but still keep the Tetsubo. 1 to 1 force/gold plus a pud spell for Consumed, Chuuna or Wrath of the Elements is hella good. If you ignore the Earth reliant trait, it is still pretty good.

For maximum jankness, play Encircled Terrain at pitched battles. Target someone else to stay in the battle and send everyone home but use the Tetsubo to negate his movement. The text actually doesnt restrict the movement negation to "another players action" so this should work... hopefully.
