I'm I don't really care, I'm not a ninja. But if I were a ninja and this were the only card I got to make my ninja fate deck better, I'd be kind of sour. The other themes seem to get much more support. Dishonor especially. Even their Kensai guys seem cool. But this.... It is so very conditional. If it was any action --cool. If they didn't get an additional action --cool. If they had to pay the costs --cool. I don't like it.

This set is already shaping up to be the one that makes Swift Counterattack mandatory. There was already Obfuscation, Naizen, Sayoko, Stolen Property and the Dragon Monk suite for additional actions. Now the Unicorn are jumping on the bandwagon!

Let's not forget City of Tears. I have run Swift Counterattack in decks just for that Stronghold.

"I kill your Ninja"
"No, you don't try again."
"I am now short in actions to win this battle. Crap."
"Ok, my Ninjas win the battle and kill your army. Oh, go ahead and take that action back now that you don't have any personalities left."
Canceling a key action has a very real chance of winning you the battle.

Yeah, I can already see my naval Sunagawa or Thunder's Favor etc being shut down with this card. As if ninjas weren't annoying enough already.

The ninja action really does take a strong player to make use of, but in the hands of one it can indeed be brutal. I imagine it's effect will be remeniscent (sp? I suck at spelling) of Deflection.
I'm jealous of Miyako as a Dragon. Kei might be superior in several ways, but Miyako is much more afordable and I do like that trait plus keyword combinations (Duelist/Kensai). Jutsushi really is brutal. Like that they got their non-unique Cavalry and Tactician dude just like all clans should have at least one of each. The SH is sexy and they finally have a military SH that does something (way to make the CE Scorpion SHs obsolete.) So very jealous of the Kensai. A mildly agressive action (ie, it does something to your opponents cards) coupled with battle equip on top of reduced gold cost in addition to deck thinning. Only down side is he has to reduce someone's force so he can't be unopposed. The Samurai/Magistrate/Courtier react dishonor speaks for himself (damn that force on what would otherwise be expected to be some kind of whimpy, preening sychophant!). Love the Ninja and the whole protecting your key personalities through smoke and mirrors types of tricks, works well in conjunction with Suboru in that he's reliant upon other personalities so killing them gimps him, thus letting the little one her pull double duty along side him. I could go on, but it's obvious they got a sweat deal this set.

No you can't. The reaction only negates the effects of a Strategy card. Actions on the board are completely safe from this card.

Oh wow.. What the hell was I doing when I read that card... Ok it's not as bad as I thought it was, but it can still be pretty nasty.
