IG3 Previews have started!

Got to say if I'm a Crab player - I'm feeling like what Mantis got helped them way more than what Crab got helped them.

I think both ours look much better by comparison to Crab.

They got a non-unique shugenja- when they can't really hope to play shugenja - while we obviously can.
I mean a random, common, shugenja in a regular set is ok for them - one in a gift is pretty rough for them.

And their commander - is decent stat-line wise...
But if I was crab I would much rather have a naval blank samurai precise strike type ability, than a "have to be alone" precise strike ability.
Yes he is a hero and that can be very good, but still.

Anyways main point I'm making is our two gift people look even better now that I've seen the 2 Crab ones.

Yeah, while I like our previews, I think Phoenix has the best so far.

Perhaps it may be that I don't play Phoenix, but I really don't think Agasha Yuhiko is all that great. Although it may be because I'm comparing him to Agasha Gifu. The unique Yojimbo is really good though.

Um...The Agasha
It's a Tactician force boost + RA at the same time. That's amazing awesome. Can you imagine such a card ran out of CotW (I know it's not legal)? That card would be god if CotW were legal. As of now, it's just awesome.

I guess my main problem with him is that I don't know of many 4 focus value elemental cards that I would want to pitch. The only 4 focus value ones that come to mind are the 5 rings, In Aikune Name, Breath of the Dragon, Song of the Void and Stare into the Void. Most of which I wouldn't want to discard anyways. That would probably mean a 2-3 force pump and a range 2-3 attack.

One reason tactician is so powerful is that you can use useless (like meta cards) for something. I don't know of any elemental meta cards. Thunderous Report isn't a elemental card right? Furthermore, aren't most elemental cards PK in the first place or search + rings (for enlightenment)?

I suppose it is one of the cards that will have to be built around. It just doesn't feel too hot for me. I also suppose that I'm so used to restriction less Ranged 4+ from Mantis personalities that it skews my perception of ranged attacks from other clans' personalities.

Opportunistic advance is possibly very good as per the independent thread.

Exotic goods being non-unique, 2g, and possible 1 honor on their turn and yours without them bowing anyone.
And making you maybe bow one of yours.... is pretty durn good.

Okay, Kazuwaru is awesome. The thought of an ogre being a kensai is funny, but add in the fact that he rips peoples arms off and beats them with it is even more hilarious. Fettered minion isn't bad either. 5 gold for a 6 force dude as long as you have an undead? Easily done. Really looking forward to the rest of the previews and wondering what kind of follower we'll get.
